Nearly four centuries after the first observance of Thanksgiving, we continue to gather with family and friends for an annual celebration of thanks for our abundance of blessings.

At Brethren Village Retirement Community, we are grateful every day for the ongoing, selfless contributions of countless people. To quote the writer William Arthur Ward, “Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgiving.” Now, during this designated season of gratitude, I would like to acknowledge the many acts of kindness and generosity by those who make Brethren Village a special, caring place.

Our Residents, the lifeblood of our retirement home, never cease to show their dedication to vibrant Village life. Their caring spirit is demonstrated through daily acts of neighborly kindness and extraordinary commitment to volunteerism within and outside Brethren Village.

Families of our Residents continually show their appreciation for the care provided here for their loved ones. As visitors, volunteers and caregivers, their support and compassion are expressed not only for their family members but extend to the other Residents they encounter here as well.

Volunteers eagerly share their time and talents to meet the daily needs of our senior living community. Here is a sampling: assisting with resident services, staffing our shops and stores, transporting and visiting with Residents, planning events, sewing and quilting for charity, gardening, piano playing, working in our library, assisting with mail delivery and leading Bible studies.

Our faithful Donors contribute funds that help us fulfill our mission-focused operation. These gifts allow us to continue providing high-quality, high-value care to each and every Resident, regardless of their financial situation.

Our 500-plus employed Team Members share a passion for serving others and enjoy making meaningful differences in the lives of our Residents. With high standards of professionalism, consistency and dedication to peerless service and care, they offer their best every day, committing themselves to living our core values of Caring, Integrity, Stewardship and Excellence.

If you have visited Brethren Village, you will understand why I am honored to express my heart-felt thanks for all of these people. Everyone here works together to create a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) that fills me with pride and gratitude.

All of us here at Brethren Village wish you and your family a happy and healthy Thanksgiving!
