BV COVID-19 Case Update

A Team Member has tested positive for COVID-19. Per our normal procedure, Brethren Village has promptly notified any Resident or Team Member who we know was in close contact with the Team Member who tested positive.

October 9, 2020

All BV Entrances/Exits Are Now Open

All entrances/exits to the Brethren Village campus are now open and you may enter and exit at any entry point to the campus. As a reminder, all Team Members, agency staff, visitors and guests still need to be screened at the security hut located at The Welcome Center prior to entering any BV building.

Today The Courtyards enters Step 1 of the Reopening Plan:

In Step 1:
Visits are limited to window visits only.
Activities are permitted in groups of 5 or less.
Beauty shop remains closed.

BV COVID-19 Case Update

A non-clinical Team Member has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is isolating at home and following all precautions. Those that were determined to be in close contact have been notified.

BV COVID-19 Case Update

The Courtyards (skilled nursing) has temporarily halted the re-opening process due to a positive Team Member case.

ALL COURTYARDS

Re-opening is ceased for minimum of 14 days.

No group dining – Residents who require direct supervision for safety may eat in dining area (with social distance).

No group activities.

No indoor or outdoor visitation (may have “Window” visits and compassionate care visits).

No Beauty Shop appointments.

An Independent Living Resident has tested positive for COVID-19. Any Residents or Team Members that had potential for exposure have been notified.

August 31, 2020

BV COVID-19 Case Update

An Independent Living Resident was confirmed asymptomatic positive for COVID-19 while being tested before discharge from the hospital, as per the hospital’s protocol. Any Residents or Team Members that had potential for exposure have been notified.

Brethren Village by the numbers: total of 32 positive COVID-19 cases: 16 Team Members, all of whom have recovered and returned to work; and 17 Residents (14 skilled nursing memory support Residents, of whom 7 passed away and had underlying health conditions, and 3 independent living Residents).

Update to Reopening Personal Care: Step 3

Both Terrace Crossing and Village Manor are now in Step 3 of the Department of Human Services and Department of Health’s Plan for the Reopening of Personal Care facilities. Visitation is permitted in the outdoor visitation area or in a neutral zone designated indoor visitation area. Infection Control procedures remain in place. Visitation may include visits from Skilled Care and Independent Living Residents. All visits must be scheduled in advance.

In Step 3, Beauty Shop appointments may resume and will be scheduled.

A reminder of the Infection Control Protocols for Visits:

  1. Each visitor will be screened at the Hut and/or the Welcome Center.
  2. Visitor and Resident must wear a face mask and use alcohol based sanitizer prior to visit.
  3. Visit will remain in the designated area.
  4. Resident and visitors will remain at a 6 foot social distance.
  5. NO PHYSICAL CONTACT BETWEEN RESIDENT AND VISITORS.
  6. Visits will be 30 minutes in length.
  7. Visits will be scheduled in advance during visiting hours.
  8. Limit of 3 visitors per visit.

COVID-19 Case Update

A Resident who was admitted to The Courtyards tested asymptomatic positive for COVID-19. This positive COVID-19 case does not affect The Courtyards reopening plan due to the fact that the virus was contracted outside of The Courtyards facility.
