Visitation Changes to Supportive Living:
Visitation guidance for nursing homes has been updated to include that all Residents may receive visitors at all times, with no limit to frequency or duration of visit. The requirements to remain vigilant with core infection control principles and procedures continue.  These include:

  • Visitors who have a positive viral test for COVID-19, symptoms of COVID-19, or currently meet the CDC criteria for quarantine may not enter the facility.
  • Frequent Hand hygiene (use of alcohol-based hand rub is preferred).
  • Visits will occur in Resident’s room or designated visitation area and not in common areas. Visitors will travel directly to the Resident’s room or designated visitation area.
  • Mask covering mouth and nose and physical distancing of at least six feet between people is required at all times in the facility.  Exception, if both the Resident and the visitors are fully vaccinated, then close contact may occur and masks removed when in the Resident’s room only.
  • We encourage visitors to get vaccinated against COVID, if they have not already done so. This has proven to be the best way to keep our very vulnerable population safe.
  • While COVID transmission is high in the local area, we encourage visitors to be tested before coming to the facility (e.g., within 2–3 days).

Information related to COVID symptoms, quarantine, COVID testing and vaccination is available at the Centers for Disease Control website. Click here to view the website.
