Volunteering
Brethren Village Retirement Community offers a variety of opportunities to volunteer your special talents to enhance the quality of care and life of our residents. The Volunteer Services Department is available to help coordinate sharing your time and efforts with the needs of our facility.
Volunteers participate in established programs, help with resident services, and assist our staff in providing important services to our campus community each and every day. Volunteers provide a vital link between the community and the residents, allowing the Village to function and grow together. Individuals, couples, groups such as scouts or civic organizations, families with children and/or pets, and college students can volunteer at Brethren Village.
Volunteer Opportunities Include:
- Staffing the Village Center Store, Gift Shop, & Thrift Shop
- One-On-One Visitation with Residents
- Ice and Water Serving
- Special Event Staffing & Planning
- Transport Residents in Wheelchairs
- Staffing Residential Campus Events & Activities
- Pet Therapy
- Meal Host/Hostess
- Sewing, Mending & Quilting
The Brethren Village Auxiliary, a resident organized volunteering function of the Village, invites friends and community members of the Village to participate in activities that directly benefit residents.
Brethren Village also reaches out to Teen Volunteers through their Teen Volunteer Orientation, held throughout the year for school aged children interested in assisting the Village. From playing games with residents to sharing musical talents, the Village welcomes helpers of all ages.
