Brethren Village’s Executive Management Team

John N. Snader, President & CEO

Serving as Brethren Village President and Chief Executive Officer, John is responsible for direct planning and coordination of the continuing care facilities and health care facilities at the Village. John began his employment at the Village after having served as Sr. Vice President for Customer Experience at Ephrata Community Hospital. John is a graduate of Elizabethtown College with a degree in Political Science, and he earned an MBA at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. He is an adjunct faculty instructor in Saint Joseph University’s graduate health care administration program, and has also been a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania, Saint Joseph’s University and Penn State University, in both the undergraduate and graduate schools. Melissa Amico, Administrator of Resident and Community Life

Melissa Amico serves Brethren Village as Administrator of Resident and Community Life. She comes to Brethren Village from Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health where she was the Lead Social Worker for LGHP Comprehensive Care Medicine, a federally funded Ryan White clinic. Rick Chambers, Director of Dining Services

Rick serves Brethren Village as Director of Dining Services. A native of Lancaster County, Rick is not a stranger to Brethren Village. A Gettysburg College graduate, he was previously employed with BV’s dining services and has additional experience in the senior living industry including Willow Valley, The Highlands and most recently, Bethany Village. Nancy Eshleman, Vice President of Human Resources

Nancy serves Brethren Village as Vice President of Human Resources. She is responsible for providing leadership for HR processes and practices including staff recruitment and employment, professional development, talent management, communications, compensation, benefits, and recognition. Tara Horvath, Vice President of Health Services

Tara oversees the delivery of clinical, therapeutic, social, and related services for Residents in the Skilled Care and Personal Care areas of Brethren Village. She provides leadership and oversight for operations for both Skilled Care areas and Personal Care. Tara promotes Resident’s health and overall well-being by focusing on Resident-centered care, professionalism of the team, and disease management models. She works directly with the Directors of Nursing and Personal Care Administrator developing quality, standards of care, and implementing smooth transitions of care through the continuum. Dixie Kiehl, Personal Care Home Administrator

Dixie serves Brethren Village as the Personal Care Home Administrator for Village Manor, Terrace Crossing, and Terrace Crossing Memory Support. She is responsible for ensuring compliance with the PA Department of Human Services Personal Care Home regulations, leadership and management of the Personal Care Team, hiring and training of Personal Care Team Members, overseeing the quality of life and care for the Residents who live in Personal Care, and fiscal management of Personal Care. Renny Magill, Vice President of Development

Renny serves Brethren Village as Vice President of Development. Renny comes to Brethren Village from Tel Hai Retirement Community where he served as Vice President of Development. During his time at Tel Hai he spearheaded a number of projects that increased philanthropy and engagement with the organization. Renny is a graduate of Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky and Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a Masters in Fine Arts. Rodney Martzall, Vice President of Finance/CFO

Rodney Martzall, CPA, serves Brethren Village as Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He comes to Brethren Village from Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP Lancaster where he served as Senior Manager. Rodney graduated from Elizabethtown College with a BS in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Tara Ober, Vice President of Communications & Resident Life

Tara Ober serves as the chief public relations and communications officer for Brethren Village, developing public relations campaigns and defining objectives to ensure appropriate and consistent organizational messages are communicated to all of Brethren Village’s audiences. She oversee the Wellness, Residential Activities and Community Life Social Work teams. She holds an English/Professional Writing degree from Kutztown University. Tara can be reached at: tober@bv.org

Kevin Semrau, Director of Information Technology

Kevin serves Brethren Village as Director of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. He is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and executing all information and technology functions of the community. Including directing all IT operations to meet clinical, business, and residential needs, maintaining existing systems and applications, and developing new IT solutions that align with BV’s Institutional culture, and long-term goals. Kevin received his B.S. in Industrial Technology from Southern Illinois University, and an Instructional Technology degree from the Community College of the Air Force. He completed the Aerospace Management Certificate at the Community College of the Air Force and has held a variety of technical and professional certifications, including Cisco Certified Network Associate and Microsoft Certified Professional. He can be reached at: ksemrau@bv.org.

Lori Schoener, Skilled Care Administrator

Lori serves as the Administrator for both The Courtyards and The Short-Term Rehabilitation Center. She manages the day-to-day operations of both facilities, coordinates and provides leadership to clinical, managerial, and ancillary team members, and ensures the facility operates in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. Additionally, Lori works to ensure all Residents have an individualized plan of care that is followed, with an emphasis on quality of life.  She holds an undergraduate degree from Penn State University and is licensed by the State of Pennsylvania as a Nursing Home Administrator. Dana Statler, Director of Chaplaincy Services

Dana Statler joined the Chaplain Team in 2006, and in July 2018 became Director of Chaplaincy Services. Dana’s undergraduate degree is from Messiah College. He received his M.Div. from Bethany Theological Seminary and was CPE Certified at Lancaster General Hospital in 2011.
