Going Vertical: Campus Redevelopment Moving Forward
Redevelopment Update: October 1, 2008

Moving forward with the massive redevelopment effort in recent months, Brethren Village remains on schedule and within budget as we aim to enhance our current facilities and services.

The construction of the new Healthcare Center, featuring 78-private living units and 42-shared private living units is well underway, and the impressive multipurpose Welcome Center will be constructed later this fall. All building permits required to begin construction were awarded during the month of July.

Infrastructure foundations are currently the focus on the west portion of campus, with steel installation and underground plumbing being completed. One of the earliest construction milestones in this portion of the redevelopment will be the creation of a new loading dock by late October. Furniture, fixtures and equipment selections are being developed for the Healthcare Center and Welcome Center by the BV team and interior designer Bridget Bohacz & Associates Inc.

Significant advancements have been made over the summer months to the independent living portion of the project which will add 135-new apartments to the Fieldcrest building, called Covenant Crossing at Brethren Village. This expansion is also on schedule and within budget with an anticipated common-area opening slated for November, and residential move-ins set for January, 2009. Current dining operations in Fieldcrest have temporarily closed through November due to the construction of three new dining venues: Chive's American Grill (Casual Dining), Perkissimo Cafe, and the Fieldcrest Dining Room (Leisure Dining). Additionally, Fieldcrest parking enhancements are also being constructed adding multiple covered parking spaces.

New storm water drains, curbing and sidewalks are being built along the front of Brethren Village property at Route 501. In satisfying both municipal and state requirements, the Village is looking forward to providing a safe and healthy environment for all residents and visitors to our campus.

A new facilities building to the Southeast of Fairview Meadows is completed and now houses the department operations of Transportation, Grounds, Renovations, and Maintenance.

The Village appreciates the cooperation and support of the campus community for making this redevelopment possible. Founded on faith, we look forward to enriching each life we touch through the ministry of Brethren Village.
