Welcome... New Residents Join Community in January!
January marks a special month in the overall redevelopment effort of Brethren Village, as we open our doors to welcome the newest group of Residents to call the campus 'home.'
Called Covenant Crossing at Brethren Village, the expansion to the current Fieldcrest residential building now features an additional 135-apartments, a Village Store, a Resident Service Office, and a Resident Computer Area.
During November, dining operations in Fieldcrest reopened adding two new impressive dining venues including Chive's American Grill and Perkissimo Café. Chive's American Grill features an open air exhibition kitchen showcasing our chefs' culinary talents while patrons lounge in a warm, casual dining atmosphere. The menu selections include robust soups, fresh baked breads, garden salads, and grilled steak and chicken.
Perkissimo Café features a walk-up coffee bar with counter service and a table top bakery display. Residents enjoy fresh baked pastries as our Barrista prepares delicious beverages including lattes, espresso, and cappuccino. Perkissimo has quickly become the new hot spot for resident mingling and a meeting-place of activity.
Aiming to enhance our current facilities and services, we remain on schedule and within budget with the construction of the new Healthcare Center, featuring 78-private living units and 42-shared private living units. The impressive three-story, state-of-the-art center was 'topped-off' with the structures' final steel beams set into place during November. The new loading dock, adjacent to Rt. 501, will open in December for deliveries and the central energy plant continues to take shape.
Construction of the multipurpose Welcome Center, featuring a 225-seat auditorium, and administrative & receptionist support space starts in December with an anticipated opening in the Fall of 2009.
The new Facilities Building, located to the Southeast of Fairview Meadows, is completed and occupied-- housing the department operations of Transportation, Grounds, Renovations, and Maintenance.
