Good Samaritan Banquet: May 10, 2012, Keystone State Quartet

Keystone State Quartet

Brethren Village's Good Samaritan Banquet, slated for Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Middle Creek Church of the Brethren, will feature the Keystone State Quartet.

Formerly known as New Spirit Quartet, the Keystone State Quartet is comprised of members Jim Vance, Julie Sloan, Kim Abel and Dan Mickey. Members of the group have been singing gospel music collectively for more than 50 years. You are sure to enjoy the close harmony of the quartet as they sing and praise God ... southern style! The group was recently awarded the Pennsylvania Southern Gospel Music Association's 2011 Favorite Group Award and the 2011 Favorite Female Singer Award.

In addition to an entertaining evening by the Keystone State Quartet, a fellowship reception will be held at 5:30 pm, and dinner at 6:30 pm. Reservations for the full course dinner & evening will be $125 per person.

Last year's banquet was extremely successful as the Village raised more than $72,000 for our Good Samaritan Benevolent Fund- which provides assistance to Residents who have exhausted their financial resources. Fifty percent of Residents living in our skilled nursing center, The Courtyards, receive benevolent care.

Please join us for this special event in support of the Brethren Village ministry. Seating is limited. For additional information or to reserve a table, please contact the Brethren Village Development Office at (717) 581-4316.

Village Introduces Candle Memorial Program (April & October)

Memorial gifts are a meaningful way to remember and express appreciation to a family member, loved one or special person. Every spring and fall, Pastoral Services at Brethren Village holds a "Service of Remembrance" where loved ones and friends who have passed away are remembered. The next service is scheduled for April 29, 2012 in the Brethren Village Chapel at 3:00 p.m. The Village is pleased to offer a new opportunity ... the Candle Memorial Program. You now have the opportunity to have a candle lit in memory of your loved one. The name of your loved one will also be printed in the "Service of Remembrance" bulletin. Funds received through the Candle Memorial Program will be used to support benevolent care — which provides assistance to those Residents who have exhausted their financial resources. If you are interested in this unique opportunity to support Brethren Village's ministry, please contact Joanne Stehr, Director of Development, at (717) 581-4316 or e-mail giving@bv.org.
