Brethren Village Capital Campaign:

Upholding the Promise ... Building for Tomorrow

Brethren Village is humbled and appreciative of the more than 350 dedicated donors who have made commitments totaling $5.6 million to the Capital Campaign titled "Upholding the Promise ... Building for Tomorrow."

On April 24, 2008, Brethren Village announced a charitable gift campaign designed to ensure the availability of additional financial resources — so that the Village may meet its current and future debt obligations. To strengthen Brethren Village's financial plan related to The Courtyards and the Welcome Center, we pursued the largest philanthropic fundraising effort in the history of the Village.

Ending in November 2010, the campaign attracted a generous outpouring of gifts, pledges and planned gift commitments from individuals, businesses, foundations, organizations and churches.

Our generous campaign supporters contributed to the opening of The Courtyards- our new skilled care facility- and the Welcome Center during the last two years. Featuring 78-private living units and 42-shared private living units, The Courtyards offers a just-like-home experience for 120 Residents needing skilled care. The Welcome Center and Wolfe Auditorium has already played host to many events, programs, lectures, services, and celebrations and is considered the heart of our campus.

As the Village enjoys the tremendous success of the campaign, a well-deserved thanks is given to the Campaign Steering Committee, Campaign Co-Chairs Joan Hershey and F. Barry Shaw, and campaign volunteers for their help in achieving this impressive endeavor.
